The New Panthers Logo

So how about those new Carolina Panthers logos?

I hate change, but I suppose this one was inevitable and will hopefully create even more buzz surrounding the franchise who was lucky enough to land Cam Newton.

Here's what the Panthers organization had to say about it:

Staying true to the roots of the panther with subtle updates reflecting a tougher, more defined panther, the evolved logo is evocative of the popular panther statues found on the grounds of Bank of America Stadium. The white outline around the logo has been removed to create a more dimensional feel and to keep the focus on the features of the panther.

If you study the new 'Carolina Panthers' font, I think it's clear the Panthers are going to get new re-designed uniforms from Nike. I think you're likely to see a swipe pattern in the player numbers on the front and possibly the back of the jerseys.

Time will tell. I've always appreciated the Carolina brand and was disappointed to see change in this area. But I'm not a person who likes change. I'm in the minority these days I think.

Cam Newton's Under Armour Pro Bowl Shoes

Here's a picture of the shoes that Cam Newton will be wearing on Sunday during the Pro Bowl. So much for a nice quiet entry into this game for "Superman".

These bad boys are oozing swag--and while at first glance I wished he would have worn just some black and white kicks--I have to say, they're growing on me. This should at the very least get Under Armour some more advertisement that they don't need and give people something else to tweet about during the NFL's version of the All-Star Game.

It's kind of like Scottie Pippens 1993-1994 Air Maestro's he wore in the NBA All-Star Game. I had a pair, and then after some kids made fun of me at school I refused to ever wear them again. My mom was furious. Nike got her $85 dollars just because I saw Pip wearing those bad boys. The stunt worked.

Here's another photo of Cam wearing those moon shoes, just so you know those really are his feet. And Steve Smith must really love his wife or not like having his arm around Hawaiian women he doesn't know for pictures.

The "About" Post

I want this blog to be about everything that is NFL Football. I want it to cover the in's and out's of a specific era. I want it to speak the language of the game that has given me so many wonderful memories from my childhood into my adult years.

I also want to be an invaluable archive space of one of the greatest careers in modern football history. Superman takes the field in Carolina--I'm sure that we're witnessing the beginning of the NFL's next Michael Jordan. And if we aren't we're still going to have some fun along the ways anyway.

I hope that this blog becomes a stomping ground for not just Carolina Panthers fans, but fans of the entire NFL. A web space where you just might see anything, so long as it has to do with football.

I grew up on John Madden, the NFL Today Show, and Tecmo Bowl. I want this blog to embody all of the passion I have inside of me for Sundays in the fall and winter.

It's Football Time.
