Cam Newton in Bristol for SportsCenter Commercial

If you didn't know it before, you know it now. Cam Newton has arrived.

Yesterday he was in Bristol, Connecticut to film one of those 'This is Sportscenter' commercials. We don't know much, but it's got something to do with Shaq's shoe.

Here is one of my favorites of that variety:

Cam Newton: "I want to finish my career with the Panthers"

CBS Charlotte posted an article over the weekend that should come as an incredibly happy read for Cam Newton and Carolina Panthers fans.

Here are the highlights:

(On why he wasn't as available to the press as some other players in the NFL):
"If people really knew my schedule day to day as far as what I try to accomplish…my game play has to be first on my list.  I need to go to sleep knowing what [I am going to do] on Sunday…my days are just so long [and there are only so many hours in the day].”

(On playing football in Carolina):
“It means so much [to be a Carolina Panther]…you hear people respond to what their hopes are for the next season…it gives me hope as the quarterback to go out there and work harder.

(On if he would ever get too big for Charlotte):
“[I absolutely see myself finishing my career with the Panthers].  Absolutely.  Right before I left [for the Pro Bowl and Indianapolis] I sat down and had a talk with Jerry Richardson, and I had a warmth in my heart that I would be able to call Carolina home for years to come, and that my home will always be in Charlotte.  My motto is to [do everything I can to help make the Panthers an elite team].”

So there you have it, some great quotes coming out of Super Bowl week from the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year.

Cam Newton on Colin Cowherd

Quick Summary of what I can remember for those that could not listen :

- Panthers would not let Cam do national interviews (at least on Cowherd's show) until after the season was over.

- Put on a bit of weight this year. Up to 263. Too many munchies in the film room.

- Said he noticed the game slowing down for him as the year went on.

- Cam explained that he couldn't recall the name of the play when he did the Gruden QB interview because so many teams had thrown playbooks at him prior to doing that and he just put all the Auburn plays out of his mind.

- He is glad Chud is coming back because this is the first time he is going back to a system he had the previous year. Up until this point he was changing systems every year and has had to learn 5 offenses.

- Cam loves Drew Brees and his accuracy.

- Cowherd said he sees Cam as a Big Ben type player and asked how he viewed himself. Cam said he doesn't want to be compared to anyone and wants to create his own image as a QB. Said in highschool his nickname was "The Dinosaur" because his talents were so rare.

- Asked if he will still have the running ability he has now in 10 years. Cam didn't hesitate and said absolutely because he will get down when there is no more yards to get. (or something like that)

- Thinks the Giants will win the Superbowl because of their ability to get to the QB which disrupts the offense (obviously) but was quick to point out that it is Tom Brady back there so who knows.

There were a few other things so feel free to add or correct anything I may have heard wrong.

Another very good interview by Cam where he came off as very likeable. Guy definitely has the "It" factor and will be a king in this league for years to come as long as he keeps heading in this direction. You guys (Panther fans) are lucky to have him for sure.

Now excuse me while I go back to work....
